NEET UG Toppers’ Tips: Dev Bhatia topped the medical entrance exam, National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2023 by scoring 715 marks out of 720 and bagging the all India rank (AIR) 18. Bhatia is now pursuing his MBBS from AIIMS Delhi. His mother, who wanted him to become a doctor, enrolled him in an online coaching in medicine in Class 9. However, he only appeared for two tests in a month initially and started his focused preparation in Class 11. Bhatia scored 97 percent in Class 10 and 96.8 per cent marks in Class 12. “I did not pay that much attention to board exams because the syllabus that comes for the medical entrance test already covers that,” the NEET AIR 18 said adding that English and his fifth subject - psychology, required a little preparation. Speaking about his preparation strategy, Bhatia said that he studied from the coaching materials provided by them and NCERT textbooks. Bhatia referred to YouTube videos for those topics that were not taught in the school but were in the NEET UG syllabus. After December 2022 till my NEET UG exam in May, I must have solved 150-200 practice papers. For revision, I used to re-read the NCERT books and mark important points/ chapters on them. I do not prefer making notes, I just highlighted my textbooks.
