While 67 students have bagged rank 1, only 48 seats were there for open-category candidates in AIIMS New Delhi in 2023. There were a total of 132 seats in the institute with three earmarked for open-PWD category candidates, 11 for General-EWS, 32 for OBC, 18 for SC, nine for ST and one each for SC-PwD and Gen-EWS PwD. Two seats were earmarked for OBC-PwD.
For the scheduled caste, scheduled tribe and other backward class candidates, the NEET UG 2024 cut-off has increased to 163-129 from 136-107 last year. Similarly, the NEET UG 2024 cut off for SC, ST and OBC-PH candidates, the cut off has increased from 120-107 last year to 145-129 this year. As many as 11,65,904 students in the UR/ EWS category have been placed in the 50th percentile category.

The NEET cut-off for MBBS and BDS for medical aspirants belonging to the general category is 50th, for OBC, SC and ST candidates, it is 40th. The NTA determines the NEET UG percentile on the basis of the highest marks scored in the all-India common merit list.
This year, as many as 24,06,079 students had registered for the medical entrance test and of them, 23,33,297 appeared. The total number of medical aspirants who qualified the entrance test is 13,16,268. As per data shared by the NTA, of the total qualified students, as many as 5,47,036 are male students, 7,69,222 are female students and 10 are transgender students. NEET UG 2024 registrations saw an increase of 16.85 per cent this year. Last year as many as 20.59 lakh applied.
In terms of state-wise performance, Uttar Pradesh reported the highest number of qualified candidates with 1,65,047 students followed by Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu with 1,42,665, 1,21,240 and 89,426 students respectively.

The NTA has provided All India Rank to the candidates and the admitting authorities will draw a merit list based on All India Rank for the seats of MBBS or BDS falling under their jurisdiction. When candidates apply to their state, they will mention their category as per the state category list. State counselling authorities will accordingly make their merit list.
Language-wise, the most number of students were registered for English with 18,92,355 students followed by Hindi and Gujarati with 3,57,908 and 58,836 students respectively. The least number of students were enrolled in Punjabi with only 214 students.
