NIRF 2023 (Dental Colleges): Top 4 institutes retain their spots, Jamia Millia Islamia features in top 10

NIRF 2023 Best Dental Colleges: Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences, Chennai retained its first rank under the dental college category scoring 84.08 points, up from 82.30 points scored in 2022. The list of National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2023 was released on Monday by the Ministry of Education.

Manipal College of Dental Sciences, Manipal also retained the second spot it secured in 2022. This year, the college scored 77.51 points, a minor improvement from last year’s score 77.28. The college secured the top spot in 2021.

The third position was secured by Dr DY Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune, the same as last year. This year, the college got a score of 73.08, a nearly three-point decline from the previous year’s 76.67 points. In 2021, the college secured the third spot.

The fourth spot was bagged by Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences, Delhi for the third consecutive year. This year, the college scored 70.96 points. In the year this category was launched, 2020, the institute secured the top rank.

NIRF 2023: Best Dental Colleges

AB Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences, Mangaluru came fifth, one rank improvement from last year with 69.21 points. SRM Dental College, Chennai came sixth, up from the eighth position last year. The seventh position was secured by Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research, which re-entered the top 10 list after falling to the 13th spot last year.

Manipal College of Dental Sciences, Mangalore is at the eighth spot this year, falling one rank below. The college was at the seventh spot in 2022 and 2021 and at the sixth place in 2020.

Siksha `O` Anusandhan, Bhubaneswar secured the ninth spot, an improvement from the previous year’s 10th spot. And, the 10th spot was secured by Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi. A new entry into the top 10, Jamia Millia Islamia was at 16th spot last year, 20th spot in 2021 and 19th spot in 2020.
