JEE Mains 2024 Result Updates: Final answer key likely tomorrow, result by Monday morning

Last year, a total of 9,31,334 students had registered for session 2 of which 8,83,367 appeared in the exam. The overall attendance in the second session was 94.83 per cent. In session 1 exams, NTA recorded the highest-ever attendance with 95.8 per cent. 

The Assam board will release the HSLC results at 10: 30 on its official website. Candidates can check results using resultassam.nic.in

To check JEE Main 2024 session 2 result, candidates will have to log in at the official website – jeemain.nta.ac.in

Once released, the final answer key will be released at jeemain.nta.ac.in 

The UP Board will release Class 10 and 12 results on April 20 (Saturday) at 2 pm.

As per NTA sources, due to some technical issues, the JEE Main 2024 session 2 result will be declared around April 22.

Once the percentile scores are assigned to each candidate in every shift, these indicate the relative position of the candidate in their respective shift. This is a common, uniform scale of marks and hence the percentile scores can be compared with each other.

If two candidates from the same shift have the same marks, then their percentile scores will be the same.

However, if the candidates from different shifts score the same marks, the percentiles may be different. The reason as explained earlier is that the percentile scores or the relative position of the candidates are calculated with reference to each shift separately. It is possible that the same marks in different shifts would correspond to different relative positions

Tie between candidates obtaining equal Total NTA scores in Paper 1: B.E./B.Tech will be resolved in the following manner in descending order:
i. NTA score in Mathematics, followed by
ii. NTA score in Physics, followed by
iii. NTA score in Chemistry, followed by
iv. Candidate with less proportion of a number of attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in all the subjects in the Test,
followed by
v. Candidate with less proportion of a number of attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in Mathematics in the Test, followed by
vi. Candidate with less proportion of a number of attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in Physics in the Test, followed by
vii. Candidate with less proportion of a number of attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in Chemistry in the Test followed by
viii. Older in Age followed by
ix. Application Number in ascending order

Check category-wise cut-off for JEE Advanced 2023

In 2023, as many as 43 candidates had scored 100 percentile in the overall merit list (based on session 1 and session 2 performance). Out of these 43, only one girl, Ridhi Kamlesh Kumar Maheshwari of Karnataka managed to secure a cent percentile.

To check JEE Main 2024 session 2 result, candidates will have to login at the official website – jeemain.nta.ac.in

The JEE Main result will be declared only after the release of the final answer key.

Step 1: Go to the official website – jeemain.nta.nic.in and ntaresults.nic.in.

Step 2: Select the answer key link given on the home page.

Step 3:  Login using date of birth (DOB) and application number.

Step 4: Click on submit button and final answer key will be displayed on screen .

Step 5: Candidates are advised to download and save it for future references 

There will be no re-evaluation or re-checking of JEE Main 2024 result once declared. The decision of the NTA will be final in respect of the JEE result.

The University of Delhi (DU) will open the registration window for three BTech programmes and two five-year integrated programmes likely next week along with PG application process. The admission to BTech programmes this year will be through the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE).

The UG students taking admission in 2024 at IIT Kharagpur will also have the option to earn simultaneously a “double major” along with the BTech (Hons) or BS (Hons) degree in the departments in which they take admission. 

The ‘Double Major’ programme will be offered by several departments. The students can register for a ‘Double Major’ in any discipline after the first year. For example, a student pursuing a BTech (Hons) in mechanical engineering can opt for a ‘Double Major’ in economics or a student pursuing BS (Hons) in Physics can opt for a ‘Double Major’ in electronics and electrical communications engineering or artificial intelligence and machine learning. 

From the current academic session, admission to all UG programmes in IIT Kharagour will be for five-year – BTech and BS levels only. The students will be able to opt for the five-year dual degree programmes after the second or third year of their study. 

Depending upon their suitability and interest, the students can choose a five-year dual degree programme in his/her parent department or he/she can also choose the interdisciplinary dual degree programmes (IDDP) offered by several schools and centres of the institute. 

— Switch between subjects efficiently: When faced with a variety of subjects in the question paper, it is essential to allocate time wisely to all the three subjects. Do not get stuck on one subject for too long. Instead, switch between subjects strategically. If you find yourself spending too much time on a particular question, mark it and move on to another subject. This way, you ensure that you cover as much ground as possible within the allocated time.

— Focus on the essence of the question: During exams, it’s common to struggle with understanding complex questions. However, remember, the most important thing is grasping the main idea being tested. Don’t spend too much time on fancy words or complicated stories. Get straight to the point and figure out what the question is really about.

The JEE Main 2024 percentile scores are the scores derived based on the relative performances of all those who appear for the exam. The marks obtained are transformed into a scale ranging from 100 to 0 for each session of examinees, NTA stated in its official brochure.

In the JEE Main 2024 session 1 exam, as many as 23 students achieved 100 percentile marks. According to NTA data released during the declaration of result, seven candidates from Telangana scored 100 percentile, followed by three candidates each from Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and Rajasthan. Delhi and Haryana had two 100 percentile holders each. Also, one each from Tamil Nadu, Gujarat and Karnataka have also scored 100 percentile marks in session 1 exam.

IIT Madras has revised the JEE Advanced 2024 registration dates. As per the revised dates, the online registration process for JEE Advanced 2024 will begin on April 27.

The April session of JEE Main result will be announced along with the cut-off required to become eligible for the JEE Advanced 2024 exam. The total number of JEE Main registrations in both sessions was over 24 lakh — 12,21,624 in session 1 and 12.57 lakh in session 2. The best of the candidate’s scores in JEE Main will be considered while preparing the final merit list.

Physics
– Easy level
– Questions asked from kinematics, gravitation, circular motion, heat and thermodynamics, magnetism-2 questions, wave optics, current electricity-2 questions, electrostatics, modern Physics, semi-conductors
– Both MCQs and numerical based questions were lengthy but easy
– Few fact-based questions from class 12 chapters of NCERT were also asked
– Students felt Physics section was balanced as per coverage of chapters.

Chemistry
– Easy
– Organic & Physical Chemistry was given more weightage compared to inorganic Chemistry
– Questions asked from electrochemistry, thermodynamics, atomic structure, chemical bonding- 2 questions, general organic Chemistry-2 questions, alcohol, ether and phenol, amines, aryl and alkyl halides mixed concept type questions, coordination compounds, stoichiometry, periodic table.
– Some questions were directly asked from NCERT textbook, which made this section easy.

Mathematics
– Moderate level
– Questions were asked from all chapters with emphasis on chapters of calculus and algebra
– More than one question was asked from vectors, 3D geometry, differential equations and conic sections
– In calculus, questions were asked from functions, continuity and differentiability, definite integral, area, differential equations
– In algebra, questions on probability, binomial theorem, complex numbers, permutation and combination, statistics, progressions, matrices and determinants
– In coordinate geometry, questions asked from parabola, ellipse and hyperbola with mixed concepts. The numerical section had lengthy calculations. A few questions were reported as lengthy and tricky.

The JEE Main 2024 result will be compiled on the basis of the final answer key released. The NTA has already released the JEE Main provisional answer key and had also asked the candidates to raise any objections against them. A team of experts then checked all the raised objections and finalised an answer key based on the same. The final answer key will likely be released today, according to an NTA official who informed the indianexpress.com earlier.
