JEE Main 2025 Clash With CBSE Class 12 Exams: The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2025 Session 2 will start during the CBSE Class 12 board exams. The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct JEE Main on April 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, and 9. While there is no direct clash with core science subjects, some board exams, including language papers, home science, and psychology, coincide with JEE Main dates.

On April 2, CBSE will conduct language exams in multiple languages, including Punjabi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Gujarati, Malayalam, Odia, Assamese, Kannada, and more. Home science and psychology exams will be held on April 3 and 4, from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM.

CBSE has stated that it considered entrance exam schedules including JEE Main while finalising Class 10 and 12 dates to minimize conflicts.

“The date of conduct of entrance examinations meant for the students of Class 12 have been taken into consideration and efforts have been made to complete the examinations much before the entrance examinations,” CBSE said while releasing the 2025 datesheets.

JEE Main is held for admission to NITs, IITs, and other engineering colleges. The 2025 exam is conducted in two sessions—January and April. In the January session, 13,11,544 candidates registered for Paper 1 (BE/BTech).

This year, over 17.88 lakh students are appearing for Class 12 exams across 120 subjects this year. CBSE Class 12 exams will get over on April 4, 2025.

Meanwhile, CBSE is considering introducing two levels of examinations for science and social science in Classes 9 and 10 — Standard and Advanced — similar to the existing two-tier system for mathematics in Class 10. The Advanced level seeks to delve deeper into concepts and foster critical thinking, while the Standard level will focus on core understanding. The syllabus will retain a common core curriculum, with specific topics identified for in-depth study at the Advanced level. CBSE and the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) officials have indicated that new textbooks for science, social science, and mathematics, incorporating additional content for the Advanced level, will be available for the 2026-27 academic session.
