Like many JEE toppers, Gupta plans to pursue his BTech in Computer Science at IIT Bombay. His father, an engineer, mentioned that he had also qualified the Rajasthan Pre-Engineering Test (RPET) back in 1994. Rajat’s mother is a home science professor at Janki Devi Bajaj Government Girls College in Kota. His father emphasised that they never pressured Rajat with expectations, instead offering constant support throughout his studies.

Eighteen-year-old Gupta, who studied at Allen Career Institute,Kota, said that he did not follow a strict routine for preparation. “My focus was to complete my daily study targets rather than put an unduly pressure. I used to play games also with the colony children to maintain the routine and make preparation part of the day. My focus remained on not repeating mistakes because only when mistakes are eliminated, the foundation of the subject becomes strong, thereby increasing the accuracy rate of the questions. It was only after clearing doubts of a section, I used to move further,” said Gupta about his preparation.

Sharing his success mantra, he said that happiness and confidence remained a strong pillar in his preparation journey that motivated him to do better even if he did not score good marks in the test.

Qualified candidates will now proceed with the Joint Seat Allocation (JoSAA) 2025 counselling process to secure admissions in institutes, including the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and other government-funded technical institutes (GFTIs). The registration and choice-filling process for academic programmes under JoSAA will commence on June 3, 2025.
