The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi is organising an Open House on June 15. The IIT Delhi Open House will be held in a hybrid mode – online and offline. In addition to all the JEE Advanced 2024 qualified candidates, the Open House is will also be held for the female candidates and persons with disabilities (PwD) who have cleared JEE Advanced 2024. Registration for the IIT Delhi Open House is underway.
The Open House will take place from 9 am to 4 pm. The institute’s official YouTube channel – youtube.com/c/IITDelhiOfficial will also livestream the entire session.
As many as 42,947 female students had registered for JEE Advanced 2024. Of them, 41,020 students appeared in both the papers and 7,964 qualified.
Out of the 2,632 registered students under the PwD category, as many as 2,465 appeared in both the JEE Advanced 2024 papers. Of them, as many as 594 students in the PwD category have passed.
This year, as many as 48,248 students have cleared JEE Advanced 2024. Among them, as many as 179 are OCI and seven are foreign students.
The Initiative for Gender Equity and Sensitisation (IGES) and the Office of Accessible Education (OAE) at IIT Delhi is organising the event. The IIT Delhi Open House seeks to promote diversity and gender equity and aims to encourage aspiring candidates to join the institute.
At the one-day event featuring interactive sessions, the JEE Advanced 2024 qualified female and PwD candidates will get an opportunity for one-on-one interaction with the deans and IIT Delhi faculty members representing various academic departments, clarify their doubts about the programmes and courses, and understand the academic and career prospects in various disciplines, an IIT Delhi statement said.
The IIT Delhi Open House will provide the prospective students with an opportunity to learn about various scholarships, fellowships, and other resources to support their academic journey at IIT Delhi.
During the event, the candidates can also interact with current students, who will share their first-hand experiences of campus life, extracurricular activities, and the supportive community that awaits them.
The attending candidates will be given a guided tour of the institute during which they can explore the various campus facilities, including the library, hostels, eateries, and other infrastructure that facilitates an excellent learning experience.
At the Open House, the candidates can learn about the support systems, accessibility, academic accommodations, and assistive devices offered by the Office of Accessible Education.
