The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT Kanpur) has invited applications for eight eMasters programmes in Economics and Finance in Business; Economics, Finance and Data Analysis; Economics, Finance and Public Policy; Quantitative Finance and Risk Management; Financial Technology and Management, Data Science and Business Analytics, Communication Systems and Sustainable Construction Practices and Project Management.

The eMasters degree programmes are executive-friendly, do not require a GATE score for applying and can be pursued while being already employed. The programme is flexible and the completion period can be between one-three years.

The programme offers self-paced learning and the live interaction will be held only on weekends. Each programme will have 12 modules and 60 credits. The students will be taught by world-class faculty and researchers from IIT Kanpur. The courses also offer a credit transfer facility where a waiver of up to 60 credits can be transferred for higher education (MTech or PhD) at IIT Kanpur.

Candidates will get access to various departments at IIT Kanpur such as the placement cell, incubation cell and alumni network. They will also get to visit the campus and meet the faculty members and build their network.

Thieves armed with chainsaws stole nine pieces of jewelry, including items belonging to Napoleon and Empress Joséphine, from the Louvre Museum. The museum was immediately shut down and a police investigation is underway. French Culture Minister Rachida Dati confirmed the incident and the Louvre remains closed. The robbers used a freight elevator and broke through glass displays.
