
GATE Result 2023 at gate.iitk.ac.in: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur declared the results for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), 2023 in the late hours of March 16. Candidates who appeared for the exam can check their results at the official website — gate.iitk.ac.in.
The GATE 2023 exams were conducted on February 4, 5, 11 and 12. Scorecards will be available for download by March 22, and candidates will have time till May 31 to download their score card without any late fees.
This year, about 6.70 lakh candidates registered for GATE 2023 for 29 papers, in total. Out of these, 5.17 lakh candidates appeared for the examination in more than 500 centres across the country with an overall attendance of about 77 per cent. The entrance exam was conducted in 29 subject areas with the choice of selecting two papers in some subjects. From the 5.17 lakh that appeared, around 1 lakh candidates have qualified the GATE 2023 examination, making it about 18 per cent as GATE 2023 qualified candidates.

The IIT Kanpur director Abhay Karandikar today tweeted that if someone's result has been withheld, it might be due to defect in their applications. "Dear Candidate, if your result is withheld because of defect in your application, please send the relevant documents to gate@iitk.ac.in. Once your application is complete, your result will be released by the GATE office. Please refer to the FAQ section," he tweeted.

An Economics (Hons) final year student at DCAC College, Delhi University, Dhruv Gupta Thursday secured the all-India rank (AIR) 5 in GATE 2023 (Economics) with a score of 78.67 out of 100. GATE 2023 was conducted in twenty-nine subject areas with the choice of selecting two papers in some subjects. From the 5.17 lakh that appeared, around 1 lakh candidates have qualified the GATE 2023 examination, making it about 18% as GATE 2023 qualified.
Out of the 29 papers, 12 papers registered more than 20% qualified candidates. Among those, the Metallurgical Engineering paper records about 25% qualified candidates making it the highest qualified percentage for GATE this year.

While there is no age limit to apply for GATE, candidates should have been in their third or higher year of their undergraduate degree programme or completed any government approved degree programme in engineering, technology, architecture, science, commerce or arts.

Not just the result day, but the last day of the examination had also seen some technical glitches at a few GATE 2023 exam cenrtres. “There are a lot of security checks in place for this exam. Due to that, the central server gives an approval to all other centres to download the exam paper. On Sunday, in the second paper, that approval/nod didn’t come in on time.
