IIT JAM 2026 registration deadline on October 20, apply at jam2026.iitb.ac.in (Website screengrab)The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay has closed the registration window for the Joint Admission Test for Masters (IIT JAM) 2026 on October 20, 2025. Candidates who have not yet submitted their applications can register online through the official website — jam2026.iitb.ac.in.
Earlier, the last date to apply was October 13, but IIT Bombay extended the registration period by a week, till tonight, 11:59 pm, to accommodate more applicants. After the registration window closes tonight, no further fresh applications will be accepted, the institute had stated.

According to the official schedule, the IIT JAM 2026 examination will be conducted on February 15, 2026, in computer-based mode across two sessions. The test will include seven papers at the undergraduate level and feature Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ), Multiple Select Questions (MSQ), and Numerical Answer Type (NAT) formats. Candidates can choose to appear for one or two papers, depending on their eligibility and preference.
Candidates can follow these steps to complete their registration before the deadline:
Step 1: Visit the official website — jam2026.iitb.ac.in.
Step 2: Click on “Apply for JAM 2026” on the homepage.
Step 3: Register using valid personal details and create login credentials.
Step 4: Fill in the online application form with academic and exam information.
Step 5: Upload required documents in the prescribed format.
Step 6: Pay the applicable fee and submit the form.
Step 7: Download and print the confirmation page for future reference.

Candidates who wish to make changes in their category, gender, exam city, or date of birth can do so by paying a correction fee of Rs 300. The same fee will apply for adding or changing a test paper. The correction window will remain open until November 10.
The IIT JAM serves as a gateway for admission to postgraduate programmes such as MSc, MSc (Tech), Joint MSc-PhD, MSc-PhD Dual Degree, and other integrated courses offered by IITs and participating institutes across India.
