The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) has opened applications for the IET India Scholarship Award for undergraduate engineering students enrolled in AICTE/ UGC-approved institutes.  

The application will conclude on May 31, and the winner will be granted a scholarship with a combined prize money of Rs 10 lakh.

Eligibility

The student should be enrolled in  AICTE/UGC-approved institutes or national institution, pursuing engineering at undergraduate level.

— Students must have cleared all regular credit courses in a single attempt.

— Students must have 60 per cent aggregate marks or 6.0 CGPA in a 10 point scale in UG marks.

—  Application is open for all IET and non-IET members.

— There is no age limit.

Scholarship awards process

Stage 1- Students are shortlisted based on their academic performance as well as extracurricular activities

Stage  2- Shortlisted students will be invited for an online test in STEM subject and technical expertise

Stage 3- Those who meet the cut-off score will be shortlisted for the regional rounds, where they will present their technological solutions to a pressing societal challenge in their region. There will be five regions: North, South 1, South 2, East and Northeast, and West.

Stage 4- Regional winners will compete with each other to win the national title.

This will be the eighth edition for this national level scholarship, started in 2013. Last year, it received over 43,000 applications. Previous year winners joined in industry leaders such as Google, Apple, Boeing, Deloitte, and MIT, and some have even become entrepreneurs themselves.
