The Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati (IIT-Guwahati) is one of top institutions for engineering and technology education. This year, IIT-G has also launched new online courses in Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree programme in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence in partnership with online learning platform Coursera.

In the year 2014, IIT Guwahati was also ranked among the top 100 world universities under the 50 years of age, it secured the 87th rank. The rankings are given by the London-based Times Higher Education (THE).

IIT Guwahati was established in 1994 and it commenced its academic program in 1995. It has 11 departments and 5 schools which covers engineering, management and humanities disciplines.
