DU Admissions, DU UG Merit List 2022: Delhi University (DU) has deferred the first round of seat allocation to Wednesday i.e. October 19, the development was confirmed by DU vice chancellor, Yogesh Singh. The merit list will be based on CUET score for undergraduate admissions. The merit list will be available at the official website — du.ac.in
The decision was taken by the University after the Supreme Court said that it will hear the plea by St. Stephen’s College on Wednesday. The DU college filed a plea against the Delhi High Court order, in which it directed the college to conduct admissions solely on the basis on CUET UG result and not conduct interviews for the seats. The SC said that the matter deserves consideration.
According to the schedule released by the university, the first semester will start in November 2022 and end in March 2023.
This is the first time that the university is conducting admissions on the basis of the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) scores, instead of class 12 Board exam results. For a smooth admission process, the varsity launched a new central admission portal called Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS).
Meanwhile, BCom and BCom (Honours) courses in various colleges have been the most popular this year as they make up 9 out of 10 college-programme combinations. According to the official data, 35,761 candidates had listed BCom at Ramjas College as one of their choices, making it the most opted for combination so far.
