CUET UG Registration 2025 Highlights: NTA to conduct exams from May 8-June 1

i. The final examination of the 10+2 system, conducted by any recognized Central/ State Board, such as the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi; Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi; etc.

ii. Intermediate or two-year Pre-University examination conducted by a recognized Board/ University.

iii. Final examination of the two-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defence Academy

iv. Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling with a minimum of five subjects.

v. Any Public School/ Board/ University examination in India or any foreign country is recognized as equivalent to the 10+2 system by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).

vi. Higher Secondary Certificate Vocational Examination.

vii. A Diploma recognized by AICTE or a State board of technical education of at least 3 years duration.

viii. General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level.

ix. High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva.

x. Candidates who have completed the Class 12 (or equivalent) examination outside India or from a Board not specified above should produce a certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) to the effect that the examination they have passed is equivalent to the Class 12 Examination.

xi. In case the Class 12 Examination is not a public examination, the candidate must have passed at least one public (Board or Pre-University) examination earlier.

Last year, 40 out of 50 questions for all test papers were asked and 50 out of 60 for the General Test (choice of 10 questions) were there in the question paper. Duration for all test papers would be 45 minutes except for Mathematics/Applied Mathematics, Accountancy, Physics, Chemistry, Economics, Computer Science/Informatics Practices, and General Tests which would be 60 minutes.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) today conducted the Hindi course A and Hindi course B papers of Class 10. The Hindi course B exam question paper was well-structured, say experts. The difficulty level of the CBSE 2025 Hindi Class 10 questions was moderate. The exam was held between 10.30 am and 1.30 pm for a total of 80 marks.

DU will not be conducting its own admission test. DU will use CUET UG scores for admission to UG programmes for most of the courses.

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) started the admission process for various undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD programmes on February 1. The University’s application form is for the academic session 2025-26 which has over 40,000 seats in 106 affiliated colleges and 18 university schools.

The online application of IP University for 46 master’s degree programmes, 40 PhD programmes, and 34 undergraduate degree programmes will begin on February 1 with classes to start on August 1. Only for the vacant seats, admission will be through CUET in 20 undergraduate degree programmes and 18 postgraduate degree programmes.

Instead of separate tests for 33 languages, CUET UG tests will be offered for only 13 languages — Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Punjabi, Odia, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu.

Candidates will be allowed to opt for subjects in CUET UG 2025 which they haven’t studied in Class 12. This will allow the students to cross over the rigid disciplinary boundaries in higher education, UGC Chairman said while announcing the change.

Following recommendations by an expert panel, the CUET UG from this year will be a computer-based test (CBT), a shift from the earlier hybrid mode, University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairperson M Jagadesh Kumar said.
