CUET UG 2024: Over 75% attendance recorded on first day of exam (May 15)

Since students write multiple tests, the above is equivalent to handling 2591014 students on a single day. This constitutes 44.71 per cent of the total scheduled slots for students registered in pen-and-paper mode.

The UGC has claimed that the overall attendance on the first day of CUET UG 2024 was over 75 per cent.

The NTA is conducting the CUET (UG) – 2024 in a hybrid mode, utilising both CBT and Pen and Paper formats, for approximately 13.48 lakh candidates who have opted for 57,95,211 combinations of subjects. Of these combinations, 53,91,227, or around 93%, are being conducted in pen and paper mode.

The examination is being conducted in pen and paper mode in subjects which have seen large registrations this year. This has significantly reduced the number of days in which the examination is being conducted. In comparison to last year, when the examination spanned over 34 days, this year, the examination is being conducted in 8 days.

“This is a landmark achievement by NTA in conducting CUET-UG in such large numbers on a single day, and NTA deserves kudos for their meticulous planning and for making sure that the test today went off well today at such large scale in pen and paper mode,” said M Jagadesh Kumar, Chairman UGC.

The candidates who are scheduled to appear for the CUET UG 2024 examination in Delhi on May 16, 17, and 18 must download a revised admit card reflecting the new examination center from the official website of the CUET UG – exams.nta.ac.in/CUET-UG/.
