4.6 lakh candidates appear for CUET PG 2024; response sheet, answer keys next

CUET PG 2024: NTA will release the answer keys next. Candidates will be given an opportunity to see their responses to the question papers and to challenge the answer keys.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) concluded the Common University Entrance Test Postgraduate (CUET PG) 2024 on March 28. According to data shared by the NTA, CUET PG was conducted for about 4,62,603 unique registered candidates. The candidates applied for various courses which were tested under 157 question paper codes. As many as 7,68,414 were registered for all the papers in CUET PG 2024. Out of which as many as 5,77,400 appeared for the test. 

The number of registered candidates dropped from last year. In 2023, out of the total registered candidates — 8,77,492 — as many as 5,39,776 appeared, while in the debut edition in 2022, out of the 6,07,648 registered candidates, only 3,34,997 appeared.

CUET PG 2024 was conducted in 44 shifts which is 16 shifts less than the previous year, NTA data said.

CUET PG 2024 was held between March 11 and March 23 and then on March 27 and 28 in 572 different centres located in 262 cities including nine cities outside India – Manama, Dubai, Kathmandu, Muscat, Riyadh, Ottawa, Abu Dhabi, Vienna, and Qatar.

So far, 190 universities including central, state and private will accept CUET PG 2024 scores to admit candidates to the postgraduate courses in their institutions. While as many as 38 central universities and 38 state government universities have registered for CUET PG, nine government institutions and 105 others – private and deemed universities will use CUET PG scores for admission in 2024.

While the total number of question papers was 240 in different mediums and the number of questions was 18,000 held over 15 days and 44 shifts, the CUET PG 2024 was conducted in bilingual (English and Hindi) humanities, sciences, and common papers (76). The language papers were conducted in the concerned language, MTech subjects in English only (13), Acharya papers (27) in Sanskrit, and a few subjects were held in trilingual (English, Hindi, and Sanskrit). 

NTA will next issue the response sheets of the individual candidates and release the answer keys. Candidates will be allowed to see their responses to the question papers and to challenge the answer keys. Challenges received online will be placed before the concerned subject experts for verification. The result will be prepared based on the final answer keys and will be declared on the website – pgcuet.samarth.ac.in.
