When asked what is her view on students leaving regular schools and admitting to dummy schools she said that the rise in number is the result of increasing competition and rat race mentality.
Before pursuing an MBBS from Delhi’s Maulana Azad Medical College, Vedika Gupta had decided to become an aerospace engineer. She wanted to contribute something to the world and help the needy. This aim prompted her to crack the medical entrance examination NEET UG 2023. She scored 705 marks.
When asked how she tackled difficult questions in the NEET UG exam, she said, “There were a few questions which did make me panic, but I solved them through elimination methods and some general knowledge. There was one question which baffled me and after I finished all the other questions, I returned to it but still failed to figure out a perfect answer. It took a lot of courage for me to leave that question unattempted.”

“I used to return home around 8:30 pm from my coaching and would rest for 30 minutes or so. During this period, I would have dinner and watch any show. Later in the night, I used to revise whatever had been taught in the class from the notes that I made,” said the girl who scored 97 per cent in Class 12.
During her preparation time, music was her stress buster. She said a month before the NEET UG, her marks had started to drop and she was under severe stress. “I was worried if I would even be able to crack this exam, but my parents encouraged me to just keep studying and not let stress get to me,” said she.
The reason to choose Maulana Azad College over Jaipur based medical colleges was because she wanted to study in best colleges in the country and that too which are near to her state. “Delhi provided that opportunity to me with good education and independence and the city is known for some of the best universities and colleges like DU, JNU, and JMI. So moving to Delhi and selecting Maulana Azad College over any Jaipur medical colleges was a well-thought decision,” said Vedika.

Gupta is not sure about her specialisation post MBBS but has an inclination towards surgery. She guided aspirants to prepare, focus on gaining knowledge rather than marks and ranks in the NEET exam.
“Stay in your own path, do not get deviated by the distractions of the virtual world. They will hamper your concentration abilities. Most importantly, believe in yourself, never doubt your capabilities. Everyone has the capacity to crack the exam if they put their mind to it,” said Vedika Gupta.
