The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is set to conduct the Class 12 computer science exam on March 29, 2025. With less than a day, students should prioritise smart revision strategies and effective exam techniques over last-minute cramming.
Here are some key tips to help you perform at your best.
The syllabus is comprehensive, but there are indeed some questions you may focus on to optimise your performance. These are:
– Python Programming: Loops, functions, file handling, lists, tuples, dictionaries, and string manipulation.
– SQL Queries: SELECT, WHERE, GROUP BY, ORDER BY, aggregate functions, and joins.
– Data Structures: Stack (push, pop and display operations).
– Computer Network: Switching technique, IP addressing, protocols, Expanded terms( Full Forms) and case study.
Set your priorities right in terms of what you want to revise on the last day of preparation for the exam.
– Go through all keywords, functions and file handling operations
–Practice important Python programs and SQL queries.
–Revise past five years’ question papers and mark frequently asked questions.
–Memorise key differences (eg, WHERE vs HAVING, DELETE vs DROP, CHAR vs VARCHAR in SQL).
Even the well-prepared may at times be stumped by a tricky or confusing question. The best approach is to be prepared to tackle such queries.
-Read the question carefully and identify keywords.
-Break the question into smaller parts and solve it step by step.
-Avoid spending too much time on a single question; move on and return later if needed.
-Use logic and dry run techniques for output-based questions.
Smart time management and a positive mindset is the best approach to taking the exam. For the first 15 minutes – read the entire CBSE paper and plan your approach. Attempt easy questions first to gain confidence. For Python and SQL questions, write with proper indentation and syntax. Manage time efficiently to avoid rushing at the end.
Stay calm, avoid last-minute panic, and believe in your preparation.
