CBSE Class 10 Math Exam 2025: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) concluded the Class 10 math examination. Students who will appear for the examination might be worried about what to revise on the last day, here is a list of chapters that a student must not miss to ace the exam.

Introduction to Trigonometry – proving questions using trigonometric identities.
Linear and quadratic equations – word problems.
Heights and Distances – word problems require careful diagram interpretation and trigonometric calculations.
Circles – NCERT and its exemplar questions with solved examples.
Arithmetic Progressions – questions based on finding the nth term and the sum of n terms.
Polynomials – questions based on the relationship between the zeroes and coefficients of quadratic polynomials.
Coordinate Geometry – questions on Distance Formula and Section Formula. Determining a point that divides a line segment in a given ratio (Section Formula).
Statistics – questions to find mean, median and mode. Questions based on finding missing frequencies.

–Go through your self-made class notes, NCERT summaries, and formula sheets.

–Pay attention to the solved examples and in-text exercises.

–Avoid learning new topics at the last minute; revise what you already know.

–Solve a few sample papers including previous years’ question papers under timed conditions for effective time management and familiarity with the format of the examination.

–Practice writing solutions (according to the marks allotted), instead of just reading, to improve retention.

–Take short breaks to stay fresh and focused.

–Lack of sleep affects memory retention—aim for at least 7-8 hours of rest.

–Read the question paper carefully before attempting. Utilize 15 minutes of reading time constructively.

–Start with the questions you are most confident about. Have a strategy in place.

–You can write answers in any order (except Section A) but do mention the section every time for better evaluation.

–Keep track of time and attempt all questions.

–Use margins to do your rough work. Do not mix with the fair calculations.

–Circles and Areas Related to Circles – questions based on finding arc lengths, sectors, and segment areas. Put the value of π as mentioned in the question.
–Surface Area and Volume – use the correct formula and focus on the calculations.

Easy-scoring Chapters

–Real Numbers – questions on proving irrationality
–Triangles – Basic Proportionality Theorem (BPT) – accurate statement with proof.
–Probability and Statistics – Direct questions.
–Trigonometric ratio substitution – questions based on a given value.

Word problems are tricky, but most of the time, all the information needed to solve the problem is within the question itself. Highlight the values given and translate them into mathematical terms. Stay calm, break the problems down, and rely on your knowledge and understanding of core concepts.
