CBSE Class 10th Board Exam 2026 Schedule: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the date sheets for the Class 10 board examinations 2026. CBSE had earlier announced that from 2026 there will be two sets of board examinations — Exam 1 and Exam 2. The first will be conducted in February–March, while the second in May–June. The board also confirmed that an estimated 45 lakh students are expected to appear across Classes 10 and 12, covering as many as 204 subjects.

“While the first edition will be conducted from February 17 to March 9, 2026, the second edition is scheduled from May 15 to June 1,” CBSE Examination Controller Sanyam Bhardwaj said.

The date sheet marks a significant change with the introduction of the dual-exam system, which is aimed at reducing academic pressure on students while giving them an additional chance within the same academic session.
For 2026, CBSE has published the detailed timetable nearly five months in advance — 146 days before the start of the exam. The Class 10 examination will begin on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 and conclude on Monday, March 9, 2026.

“As a general guideline, evaluation of answer scripts will commence approximately 10 days after the conduct of each subject’s examination and will be completed within 12 days. For instance, if the Class 12 Physics examination is scheduled for 20th February, 2026, evaluation is likely to begin on 3rd March, 2026 and conclude by 15th March, 2026,” Bhardwaj added.
This year’s two-exam system ensures that students who might not perform to their expectations in the February–March session will have another opportunity in May–June without waiting for an entire year, according to the CBSE.
