CBSE 10th Result 2024 Updates: Results out, 93.60% students pass; supplementary exam dates released

In Class 10, a total 11,253 students scored full marks in standard maths, followed by Sanskrit and Artificial Intelligence in which 6,700 and 6,269 candidates scored a perfect 100, respectively, said a CBSE official. 

These students will be able to appear in the CBSE Class 10 supplementary exams. 

- Class 10 students who were unable to pass up to two subjects and are placed in the compartment category

- Students who were declared by replacing 6th or 7th subject can appear in the failed subject

- Class 10 students who were declared pass but wish to improve their performance in two subject

Class 10 Science, Maths and Social Sciences were opted for by more than 22.62 lakh students each. On all three days, CBSE conducted the exam for these students at 7,612 examination centres in 94,729 rooms with help from 1.88 lakh assistant superintendents In addition, on the day of the Maths and the Social Sciences exams for Class 10.

In Class 10, examinations of four new subjects were conducted -- Kokborok, Electronics and Hardware, Foundation Skill for Science, and Design Thinking and Innovation

CBSE officials attributed the rise in pass percentage to an increase in the number of competency-based questions in the exams this year. 

The pass percentage in Class 10 stood at 93.60, a rise of 0.48 percentage points from last year.

“Not only does this surpass our own performance of last year, but it surpasses the CBSE national average as well,” the Delhi CM, Arvind Kejriwal tweeted on X (earlier known as Twitter). The overall pass percentage of CBSE Class 12 has been recorded at 87.98 per cent.

This year, the first phase of CBSE tele-counseling was conducted before, during and after the CBSE 2024 board exams. Now, during the second phase, a comprehensive team of 65 professionals including principals, trained counselors, special educators from CBSE-affiliated government and private schools, and psychologists will provide tele-counseling round the clock for one week.

Step 3: Log-in using credentials such as registration number and date of birth

Step 4: The result will be displayed on the screen.

Step 5: Download and save the CBSE Class 10 result for future use.

Only those candidates who have applied for verification of marks online will be eligible to apply for obtaining photocopy of answer book(s) in that/those subject(s), which will be available at Rs 700 per subject.

The Trivandrum region recorded the highest pass percentage in both classes 10 and 12 at 99.91 and 99.75, respectively. The Prayagraj region reported the lowest pass percentage of 78.25 in Class 12 while Guwahati region recorded the lowest for Class 10 at 77.94.

The exams for CBSE Class 10 science, mathematics and social science were opted by 22,62,692 students each and thus all three days, CBSE has conducted examinations of these students at 7,612 examination centres and the examinations were conducted in 94,279 rooms with the help of 1,88,558 assistant superintendents.

CBSE will start the free psychological counseling services from tomorrow, May 14. The psychological counseling services will be operating 24x7 for a week.

Ishan Vasta from Apeejay School Nerul in Navi Mumbai has scored 99 per cent marks in CBSE board Class 10 exam.

The CBSE 2025 Class 10 board exams will start on February 15, 2025.

Abhishek from Punjab has scored 99.4 per cent marks in the CBSE Class 10 board exams.

The Class 10 CBSE results can also be checked through the Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS). To check CBSE results via voice system, students need to dial the number, 24300699, along with the code of their area preceding the given number. Students should remember that the call would be charged at 30 paisa per minute for a single roll number.

The application for Class 10 marks verification will start from May 17 and will be available for 5 days only. The application for the re-evaluation of the answer sheets will commence on June 6. This facility is available for two days. The CBSE has also shared that after the deadline there will be no acceptance of the application. The application has to be made online, no offline applications will be accepted.

The CBSE post result, annual psychological counseling will begin from May 14.

Step 1: Students can visit the URL -- cbseservices.digilocker.gov.in/activatecbse -- for initiation of the DigiLocker account confirmation process.

Step 2: To confirm your DigiLocker account you have to select your class first either 1- or 12. Then, enter your school code, roll number, and 6-digit security PIN (the PIN shall be provided by your school), and then click "Next".

Step 3: An OTP will be sent on mobile. Now enter OTP (One time password) received on your mobile number and click on the "Submit" button.

Step 4: Your DigiLocker account will be activated. Upon successful confirmation, click on "Go to DigiLocker account"

Step 5: In case, if you are already a registered user of DigiLocker i.e. your mobile number is already registered with DigiLocker, you may be prompted with the following message i.e. "Please click on Go to DigiLocker account".

Individuals can dial the toll free number 1800-11-8004 from anywhere in India to access CBSE’s  tele-counseling helpline, providing centralized support, information, and useful tips to address  result-related anxiety or stress. Additionally, the 'Counselling' link  (https://www.cbse.gov.in/cbsenew/prunit_temp/index.html) on the CBSE website offers further assistance and resources to stakeholders. 

The number of students placed in compartment (full subjects) has decline from 134774 (6.22%) in 2023 to 132337 (5.91%) this year.

This time, a total of 212384 students (9.49%) have scored 90% and above, which is an increase from last year's 195799. Another 47983 students (2.14%) have scored 95% and above, which is also an increase from 44,297 candidates in 2023.

Institution-wise, JNV and KVs have performed the best with 99.09%, followed by independent schools at 94.54%, CTSA at 94.40%, government schools at 86.72% and government-aided schools at 83.95%.

Gender-wise, girls have done better than boys by 2.04%. This time, the overall pass percentage of girls has increased from 94.25% in 2023 to 94.75% in 2024. For boys, the pass percentage increased from 92.27% in 2023 to 92.71% in 2024. For transgender students too, it increased from 90% last year to 91.30% this year.

This time, a total of 27761 students registered in CBSE Class Xth goreign schools, out of which 27652 appeared and 27267 (98.61%) passed the exams.

Like last year, this time too, Trivandrum has emerged as the best performing district in Class 10th results

The overall pass percentage of Class 10th 2024 has been recorded at 93.60 per cent this year, which is an increase of 0.48 per cent from last year's 93.12 per cent.

Students can check their CBSE Xth results by keying in their roll number, school number, date of birth and admit card ID.

Step 2: Go to services section and visit CBSE.

Step 3: Enter your registered mobile number and login with either OTP or MPIN.

Step 4: Enter your required credentials like registration number or roll number.

Step 5: Download and save the result for future use.

In CBSE Class 10th results, the overall pass percentage of girls has seen a decline since after the Covid-19 pandemic. Take a look at the overall pass percentages in the past few years:

Girls pass percentage in 2019 -- 92.45 per cent
Girls pass percentage in 2020 -- 93.31 per cent
Girls pass percentage in 2021 -- 99.24 per cent
Girls pass percentage in 2022 -- 95.21 per cent
Girls pass percentage in 2023 -- 94.25 per cent

In 2023, a total of 1,95,799 candidates got over 90% marks, making it a total 9.04% of the total candidates.Another 44,297 candidates got over 95% making up for 2.05% of the total candidates

Boys pass percentage 2019 -- 90.14 per cent
Boys pass percentage 2020 -- 90.14 per cent
Boys pass percentage 2021 -- 98.89 per cent
Boys pass percentage 2022 -- 93.80 per cent
Boys pass percentage 2023 -- 92.27 per cent

In 2023, a total of 21,84,117 students registered for the exam out of which 21,65,805 students appeared for the exam. The total number of students who cleared the exam were 20,16,779 and the pass percentage was 93.12 per cent, which was a decline of 1.28 per cent from 2022.

The CBSE Board Exams 2025 for Class 10th and 12th will begin from February 15, CBSE announced today.
