CAT 2019: The Common Admission Test (CAT) is being conducted throughout the country on Friday, November 24, 2019. The first slot of the CAT just concluded while the second slot will begin at 2:30 pm. The candidates who have appeared for the B-school entrance examinations rated the overall paper as moderate but the difficulty level in English section as high. The Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation section was moderate, they said.
Speaking to indianexpress.com, Gautam Bawa, Vice President, Career Launcher said, “The questions asked in the verbal section was quite tricky, it is hard to answer reading the passage once. The Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation sections were easier to solve. The difficulty level of the paper was moderate.”

“The overall difficulty level of the exam was moderate to tough. Out of the three sections, Verbal Ability Reading Comprehension was the toughest while Quantitative Aptitude and DILR were both equally intimidating,” Vijay Jha, Academic Head, Gradeup said.

Disha Batra, who attempted CAT for the second time, said, “The difficulty level in English was quite high. The passage was tough to understand, with questions were quite difficult. The Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation sections were moderate. In the Quant sections, questions were mainly Arithmetic based.” Disha is expecting to score around 95.
Another candidate, Bhusan Agarwal said, “The English passages were way beyond to understand, as the language was quite difficult. Apart from English, the Data Interpretation section was moderate and Quantitative Ability was the easiest.”
Take mock test of CAT 2019
As per the candidates, the cut-off will hover between 85 to 90. Last year, the highest cut-off for the CAT examination was 95 percentile.
A total of 2,44,169 candidates appeared in the CAT examination this year, conducted by Indian Institute of Management (IIM Kozhikode).
Those who clear the exam will be eligible for admission to management courses, including PGP, PGDM, PGPEM, EPGP, PGPBM, PGPEX, at the IIMs and other management colleges across the country. CAT 2019 score is valid only till December 31, 2020, and will accordingly be accessible on the website.
