A NEW biopic on former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee releasing next Friday has led actor Pankaj Tripathi, who is portraying the lead role, to step down as the Election Commission’s national icon for voter awareness. Before anyone could point a finger or allege any political leanings, Tripathi has voluntarily stepped down, as per the terms of the memorandum of understanding signed between him and the poll panel in 2022.

Focus On Youth

AHEAD OF the Lok Sabha elections, BSP president Mayawati’s political successor and party’s national coordinator Akash Anand Thursday launched a mobile number to connect youths with the party. Any person can get associated with the BSP by giving a missed call on the particular number. The party will approach the caller, said BSP sources. Akash launched the exercise following Mayawati’s message to the party leaders to ensure that youths get 50% participation in the BSP. The party had not been using such mediums to connect with the masses so far. Now, with Akash as its youth face, the party is using technology to increase supporters.
