“Abhaar ke liye dhanyawaad (Thank you for the gratitude),” Akhilesh posted on X. (File Photp)The rare bonhomie shown by political rivals — BSP supremo Mayawati and SP chief Akhilesh Yadav — on social media continued on Monday. A day after Mayawati expressed “abhaar” to Akhilesh for “acknowledging the truth about her honesty” and reprimanding a BJP MLA for calling her “corrupt”, Yadav thanked the BSP chief for her “gratitude”.
“Abhaar ke liye dhanyawaad (Thank you for the gratitude),” Akhilesh posted on X. He also shared the “abhaar” with others who, he wrote, had been lodging their protest against the BJP MLA for insulting “a respected former woman chief minister” belonging to the deprived section of society.
Walk The Talk
Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has developed a new style of delivering speeches. Unlike his Cabinet colleagues, who speak from a podium at official events, Chouhan addresses the audience in a way similar to TED Talks.
Recently, he attended two events organised to felicitate beneficiaries of Namo Drone Didi and Lakhpati Didi at Pusa complex in the national capital. At the events, while the other speakers spoke from the podium, Chouhan picked up a cordless microphone and delivered his speech while walking on the dais.
Law & Order
The Akhil Bharatiya Adhivakta Parishad, an RSS-linked lawyer outfit, has been hosting study circles on the new criminal laws that came into effect from July 1. Sitting judges of the Delhi High Court are presiding over the study circles. Justice Dinesh Kumar Sharma presided over the session last week, while Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma is slated to speak at the second study circle being held on August 30.
