Zero-error policy gets zero marks

In a results goof-up,22 BBA students score zero in one subject

In yet another examination goof-up by the University of Pune (UOP),as many as 22 students of Bachelor of Business Administration course from Brihan Maharashtra College of Commerce (BMCC) were given zero marks in a subject,the results for which were declared on July 17. The correct results will be out by Monday,said university officials.

“The results were declared on Wednesday. Students came up to me and told me about the goof -up in their marks. There are 22 students from the third year,semester six,BBA course who have not got any external marks in the Financial Services paper. It is not due to any mistake from our part. We had given all the necessary details and also submitted internal marks on time,” said C N Rawal,principal,BMCC.

“Yesterday I drafted a letter and sent it to the university asking them to rectify the mistake. I have also submitted the roll numbers of the affected students and other required documents. I spoke to the affected students. Tomorrow,I will be meeting the university officials asking them to issue the correct marksheets as soon as possible,” added Rawal.

V B Gaikwad,director,Board of College and University Development (BCUD) said,“The matter will be resolved by Monday.”

He said,“This time we adopted a zero-error policy and have tried to bring out all the results on time. The BBA goof-up is an error and we will make sure this does not happen in future.”
