Youth seeking job at NDA with fake papers held

The city police on Saturday arrested a person for allegedly trying to get a job in the National Defence Academy (NDA) by submitting fake documents.

The city police on Saturday arrested a person for allegedly trying to get a job in the National Defence Academy (NDA) by submitting fake documents. Police have identified the suspect as Shivshankar Shyamsundar Singh (26),a native of Manjosh Thana,Bihar. Rizwan Akhtar Mohammed Shabbirali Khan (53),a senior clerk at NDA,lodged a complaint with the Warje police station.

Police said Singh applied in NDA for the post of a canteen man and submitted some documents like risk certificate,legal agreement bond,supplementary legal agreement bond at the Sudan Block,Cadet section in NDA on Friday. However,there was no such vacancy at the NDA and no recruitment procedure was going on for any such post,police said.

When NDA office authorities checked Singhs documents,they found that he had submitted bogus papers with his application. Some documents also carried the Armys logo. An offence was registered against Singh at Warje police station on charges of forgery and cheating under Sections 467,468,471,420 of the Indian Penal Code.

Primary investigation by police revealed that Singh is a native of Bihar but was working at a private security agency in Bangalore,where some person advised him to apply for a job at NDA. Sub-inspector S A Gaikwad produced Singh before the magistrate court.

Police told the court that custodial interrogation of the suspect is required to know from where he procured the bogus documents. It is also being probed who helped him in making these bogus documents. Police suspect that bogus documents were made on computer using images on websites. Judicial magistrate (first class) S A Gaikwad remanded him in police custody for a day.
