Women entrepreneurs — Swapna Gupte,Ragini Tandon and Sunita Bhonde — have taken up the cause to spread free quality education to children across the state. The trio is ready to launch the BETA version of http://www.sharpeners.in,an educational website providing high class educational content for class VI-IX students.

“The syllabus will be that of SSC. Basic education with a competitive edge and proper use of technology will be available without any charge at all,” Tandon told a news conference.

The content has been compiled by Alka Sathe,Dipti Deshpande,Madhuri Kolhatkar,Pratibha Bhat,Amruta Dhavlikar,Pooja Jadhav,Jaishree Hande,Leena Ranade and many others who have been part of the education industry for over 25 years.

“A student can log on to learn topics in an easy and exciting way with interesting pictures, illustrations and animations anytime they want. They can earn reward points, which they can redeem for small gifts,” Gupte said. “We want to study the feedback from a limited user space and implement useful suggestions in the fully loaded version, which we will launch during December this year. We will incorporate content for classes X-XII in arts, science and commerce during 2012-’13.”
