With a collection of 225 models of cars ranging from Ford Model T to the 1948 Cadillac Coupe De Ville,Ratnakar Joshi has entered five record books for the largest collection of miniature car models. Joshi now features in Limca Book of Records,Miracles Worlds records,Assist World Records,India book of Records and the Asia Book of Records. “I have been collecting miniature designs for 27 years now. The collection includes the likes of a 1923 Ford Truck,Audi Q7,tractors from New Holland and even a matchbox-sized Mercedes Benz,” says Joshi,who works with the regional transport office (RTO). He says the detailing in the cars fascinates him and the history of motorcars and bikes has inspired him to keep collecting more and more models. “On the list now are the Nissan Skyline and Pontiac GTO. The GTO is a rare muscle car,a true combination of slick beauty design and a powerful engine,” he adds.
