Update to face competition,entrepreneurs told

Director of board of college and university development of the University of Pune Dr Pandit Vidyasagar on Tuesday urged entrepreneurs to adopt new technologies and maintain qualityof products to stay in the competition.

Vidyasagar was addressing the audience after inaugurating ‘Impetus and Concepts 2010’,a national level competition arranged for students by Pune Institute of Computer Technology (PICT).

“The globalisation process has provided lot of opportunities for entrepreneurs but has increased competition too. Entrepreneurs should be ready to face this competition,” said Vidyasagar.

He also urged students to know their capacity and create innovative products if they really want to become successful entrepreneurs.

Of 452 projects received,180 have been selected for the competition. As many as 876 research papers will be presented in the competition. Students from urban as well as rural areas have participated in the competition.

Principal of PICT Dr Arun Gaikwad,vice-principal Girish Potdar,entrepreneur Harsh Barve,managing trustee of the college R S Kothawale,secretary C S Subhedar,executive director Dr V A Kumthekar were also present on the dais.
