“W have to come together to form a union. Without it,we can’t get access to human rights,” said advocate Dhairyasheel Patil of Satara, while talking on the problems faced by the unorganised unions of domestic workers, commercial sex workers and waste pickers.

Unorganised workers said they often have no access to health insurance and other facilities, which other organised unions have. “There has to be an agenda for the union and it has to be followed by all members,” Patil said.

Our aim is to help them get their rights back.”

Highlighting their grievances,waste-picker Sarubai Waghmare said,“We took up waste picking because we are uneducated. I started working when I was 10 years old. But in 2004,when
