Speaking to reporters, Ajit Pawar said he had directed Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissioner Vinaykumar Chaubey not to spare anyone in the Vaishnavi Hagawane death case (File)DEPUTY CHIEF Minister Ajit Pawar on Friday met the Kaspate family and condoled the death of their daughter Vaishnavi Hagawane who allegedly ended her life on May 16. Pawar announced the trial will take place in a fast-track court.
On Friday evening, the Deputy Chief Minister visited the residence of the Kaspates in Wakad and assured them of stern action against the accused Hagawane family. He condoled the death of Vaishnavi. He reiterated that had they informed him in advance about the torture that Vaishnavi was undergoing, he would have spoken to the Hagawanes.
Speaking to reporters, Ajit Pawar said he had directed Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissioner Vinaykumar Chaubey not to spare anyone in the Vaishnavi Hagawane death case. “I had told him that there will be no political interference… I had also spoken to the investigating officers. Rajendra Hagawane and Sushil Hagawane were constantly changing their location and vehicles. Despite this, Pimpri-Chinchwad police, coordinating things properly and nabbed the accused. The trial will take place in a fast-track court,” he said.
Ajit Pawar said he has also directed Pune Police Commissioner to take strict action against Nilesh Chavan, a relative of the Hagawanes who allegedly prevented the Kaspates from taking custody of Vaishnavi’s nine-month-old baby boy. “The police will present a water-tight case,” he said.
Ajit Pawar said, “f murder case is filed and there is no evidence, then the case will not become strong. Therefore, the case will be handled on the basis of the evidence collected.”
