A Dhankawadi-based builder,Rajesh Yadav (28),was murdered at Ambegaon Pathar on Wednesday when he had reportedly gone to resolve a dispute over some local people misbehaving with two girls.
Police said they have identified the suspects and will soon make arrests. Suvarna Kamble,cousin of the two girls,works as a receptionist at Yadavs construction company, Sairaj Developers,Promoters and Builders,in Dhankawadi.
According to a complaint registered by Chhabubai Kamble,aunt of the two girls,three men allegedly misbehaved with her nieces near the vegetable market at Surya Chowk. They returned home and told her and her two sons,Satish and Atish about the incident. All of them went to a nearby tea stall,where Kambles sons then got into a scuffle with the three men,who were there.
BM Deshmukh,assistant police inspector with Haveli police station said,The complainants two sons and their cousin Jagan got into a quarrel with these three persons. By then Suvarna,who works at the office of the deceased,had come back home. As per the statement by the complainant,Suvarna called up Yadav and asked him to help. The two girls and other members of the Kamble family returned home after that. MP Karade,deputy superintendent of police for Haveli division said,We have identified the three suspects as Sagar Pawar,Suraj Sawale and Avinash Pawar.
When Yadav reached Kambles house,the three had reportedly come back with more men. Deshmukh added,When Yadav tried to intervene,he was attacked. The suspects allegedly used wooden sticks and bricks. Pratap Dighavkar,superintendent of police,Pune (rural) said,The post mortem report shows the deceased had a stab injury on his chest.
