Ticketless travel

The Pune division of the Central Railway earned Rs 2.33 crore by catching 49,209 unauthorised (ticketless) passengers traveling in long distance as well as suburban trains between April and August 2009.

The Pune division of the Central Railway earned Rs 2.33 crore by catching 49,209 unauthorised (ticketless) passengers traveling in long distance as well as suburban trains between April and August 2009. Railway authorities had conducted various ticket checking drives all over the Pune Division for catching without ticket,without platform tickets,unbooked luggage and travelling with improper tickets cases. During the same period last year,railway authorities had earned Rs 1.51crore by fining 42,569 passengers. The earning have increased by 36 per cent as compared to last year same period.

In future also,various drives will take place under the guidance of Alok Badkul Senior Divisional Commercial Manager of Pune Division. Railway authorities have requested rail users to travel with proper tickets proudly and peacefully.
