Thombare,Inoue clinch ITF tourney doubles title

The second seeded combination did not drop a set through-out the competition and emerged as deserving winners on Saturday.

Lakshya-Bharat Forge supported Prarthana Thombare teamed up with Akari Inoue of Japan to hammer the Indo-Swedish combination of Shweta Rana and Hamlin Matilda 6-1,6-4 to lift the women’s doubles title in the 10,000 USD ITF Tennis event at the DLTA courts in New Delhi.

The second seeded combination did not drop a set through-out the competition and emerged as deserving winners on Saturday.

This was the third doubles title of the year for Thombare. She had also reached the semifinals of the singles event of the same tournament,where she went down against Katherine IP of Hong Kong.

Thombare,at present,trains with Hemant Bendrey at the PYC Gymkhana.
