A book launch,Kareena Kapoor and excited fans.

A book launch,Kareena Kapoor and excited fans. That’s what Monday evening was supposed to be,but to the disappointment of almost everyone gathered there, the actress didn’t turn up. “She’s not feeling well,” was the excuse. After a few disheartened sighs, the event went on. The Marathi edition of the book Women and the Weight Loss Tamasha by Rujuta Diwekar was released at the Courtyard by Marriot,Hinjewadi. The book, translated in Marathi by Diwekar’s mother, professor Rekha Diwekar,is meant to help readers break free from the misconceptions associated with diets and weight loss. Rekha Diwekar read excerpts from the book and even narrated some experiences. “I often come across women who do crazy things to get rid of excess weight. Out of frustration, they sometimes take extreme steps like committing suicide. This book is an attempt to enlighten those women and teach them that ‘health’ matters more than ‘weight’. And that is why I have called it ‘Tamasha’,” she said.
