Day 2 of Baajaa Gaajaa 2012 was a mix of interesting discussions and music performances. The Music Conclave,a first-time feature of the the festival,was held at Vivanta By Taj Blue Diamond. Film director Imtiaz Ali,veteran actor and director Amol Palekar,film critic Shubhra Gupta and musician and the curator of Baajaa Gaajaa,Shubha Mudgal,got together for a tete-a-tete with the audience on various issues in the music industry. Ideas and opinions on the music scenario of the film industry were spoken about. The conclave began with Palekar sharing his experiences during the making of his films like Ankahi and Paheli. While the noted actor-director narrated some interesting behind-the-scenes stories,Imtiaz Ali spoke about some of his fondest childhood memories and his association with theatre during his college days. Ali and Palekar shared their different views on the creation of film music today. Mudgal too questioned the Ali on his choice of music director for his film Rockstar . ‘Why did he decide to go with music maestro A R Rahman and not choose an independent artist for the film?’ was the question posed by her. The audience too raised certain questions to the panelists who answered them the best they could.

While the discussions continued at the conclave,Ishanya Mall was submerged in music melodies. From the jugalbandi of Australian percussionists Ben Walsh and Bobby Singh to a performance by German jazz players Max Clouth and Marc Intl Mannel Saavedra along with Benoni Soans,the day was high on all sounds beautiful.
