Her tryst with the piano began at the age of three and ever since then pianist Giulietta Koch has been fascinated by the mellow tunes rendered by the instrument. And showcasing her love for the piano,Koch will be performing at a concert organised by the Poona Music Society on May 26. To be held at the Mazda Hall in Camp,the concert will have Koch perform pieces from the works of Schubert,Mozart,Ravel and Chopin. In addition to performing in India Koch has performed at the Konzerthaus in Berlin and played with the Ukrainian State Philharmonic Lviv,the Jenaer Philhamonic,the Norddeutsche Philharmonie Rostock,Symphony Orchestras of Basel and the Symphonic Orchestra of Zielonagora in Poland. The concert will be held in the evening seven onwards.

What started as a hobby has manifested into a full fledged profession for artist Seema Ghiya. Her exhibition of water colour paintings that is going on at the Malaka Spice,Koregaon Park,boasts of paintings that are from the Maharashtrian countryside. Speaking about her interest in the medium she says,The transparent effect of watercolor fascinates me. It is a challenging medium since once completed the painting cannot be retouched. The exhibition will be on till May 31 from 11 am till 11.30 pm. Speaking more about her work she adds,My paintings are composed of various human expressions and emotions,traditional Indian dresses and their day to day activities. she also mentions that the reason she chooses landscapes as it helps her connect with nature. Having graduated from Rajasthan University in Jaipur,Ghiya has participated in exhibitions like Lokmanya Tilak National Exhibition,Chitari Academy of Fine Arts – State Level Art Exhibition and the Nehru Centre,Mumbai,amongst others.
