New Year Celebrations
Students of Rosary School,Viman Nagar,celebrated New Year differently. They visited the Paraplegic Rehabilitation Centre ( ),Khadki. Students of Std X organised dance and musical programmes for the brave soldiers at the centre. Later,they even distributed chocolates with personal messages to the soldiers. The programme was attend by all the soldiers and their family members.
Children’s Corner
GaMaBHaNa will release its very popular children’s calendar this year on January 7. The organisation,which works to promote art amongst children,received more than 1,000 paintings on different subjects,some of which have been included in the ‘My Own Calendar 2012’,while the rest will be displayed at the ‘Balchitranchi Duniya’ art exhibition to be held at Bal Gandharava Kala Dalan from January 7-9. Poet Sandeep Khare will release the calendar,while child artist Soni Shobha Darmade will inaugurate the exhibition.
Cause,it’s Art
From January 5-10,Darpan Art Gallery on Patrakar Nagar road will host a group art exhibition with a conscience. ‘Mélanges’ will feature paintings,sculptures,jewelery,murals and photographs made by five artists. The proceeds will be donated for the benefit of Chaitanya,an NGO based in Rajgurunagar town of Maharashtra,which works to empower rural women. Isabelle Ragbir will also present the handicraft works of the village women she is working with. V V Mujumdar,president of the Alliance Française de Pune,will inaugurate the exhibition on January 4.
