The Mission Youth Programme,which was launched recently,aims to be the popularity stage for upcoming artistes
Pune,with its educational institutes and IT firms,is defined by its young population. Youth and college festivals have almost become synonymous with this Oxford of the East. And aiming to give an impetus to the young pool of talent is the Mission Youth programme that was recently launched in the city.
Joshi also says that the professional set-up along with an official website will go on floors by May this year. While working on the Mission Apollo Programme,we learnt that youngsters are very sincere,which is why we decided on the Mission Youth Programme. We do however need more volunteers to help us with the work, he adds.
The launch of the programme will be held during the Kumar Gandharva Darshan and Joshi considers it to be an apt platform for this youth-related initiative. Pushkar Lele,who will be presenting the programme,has been a musician and thus will represent the cause perfectly, he says.
According to Lele,the Kumar Gandharva Darshan,which made its debut in 2005 in Sydney,aims to portray the unexplored side of Kumar Gandharva. Audiences have a fixed notion about Kumar Gandharva and his works. Through this programme,we will showcase rare audio-visual clips and recordings. The programme is a synthesis of the three, he says. This programme will reach out to more cities within the country and abroad. The fact that it has received such good response everywhere is what drives us on, he adds.
