Swine flu claims 16th life

A 50-year-old man from Shirur died of H1N1 virus (swine flu) at Poona hospital here on Wednesday.

A 50-year-old man from Shirur died of H1N1 virus (swine flu) at Poona hospital here on Wednesday. Doctors said he had a runny nose,dry cough and high fever with body ache since September 24 but he delayed treatment.

The man was admitted to the intensive care unit on September 29 and died on Wednesday due to “septic shock caused due to H1N1-related viral pneumonia”. This is the 16th death due to swine flu in the Pune Municipal Corporation area since April this year,said a release issued here.
