As many as 2.16 lakh candidates have registered for the Secondary School Certificate (SSC,Class X ) and nearly 1.81 lakh for Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC,Class XII) examinations which will begin from Wednesday.
The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) will conduct the exams across 1,015 centres in nine divisions,including Pune division,a release said. The SSC exams will last till October 9,while HSC exams will end on October 17.
Students who failed in March,2013 examination and took admission in Class XI using Allowed To Keep Term (ATKT) facility would appear for the examination along with other failed students. Students taking benefit of Class Improvement Scheme will have to appear afresh for written,oral and practical examination. However,they can carry forward their internal assessment marks,added the release.
MSBSHSE also clarified that differently-abled candidates can opt for writers during the examination and power to take a decision to this effect has been vested with the head of the concerned examination centre. Helpline numbers for Pune division are 020-65292316,65292317
