An UPCOMING album by ace vocalist Pandit Sanjeev Abhyankar features compositions by city-based Bhagyashri Godbole,who is a disciple of Sanjeevs mother Yashoda Abhyankar. The album titled Anubhuti has all the compositions done by Godbole in the last seven years. I have come up with many compositions in different ragas and rhythms in the last few years. I have complied the best out of all of them for this album, says Godbole,who has composed and sung for albums such as Rangiraas and Aradhana in the past.
The album features six compositions in different taals including jhaptaal,teentaal,drut ektaal and dadra taal. The different ragas in which the compositions are based include Lalit,Charukeshi,Madhuwanti and Bilashani Todi. Each song has a different mood,which comes from the choice of the raga. The singing style is of Mewati gharana,
says Godbole.
There are two devotional songs titled Tero charana and Mora mana tarasate. She also explores a romantic tune in Madhuwanti with her compositions Ab aao na ghara,Janana baaje payaliya and Piya bin kichu na bhaye.
There are only two romantic songs,which are in a sequence. The first song,Aao na ghar,is about a woman calling her lover home. She is longing to see him after a long time. The second song is an expression of her joy when she finally sees her lover come home and the third is of her painful longing for her lover when he has to leave her to her loneliness and go away again, says Godbole.
Abhyankar and Godbole have been accompanied by Ajinkya Joshi (tabla) and Tanmay Deochake (harmonium) for the album,which releases on June 15.
