Shortlisted for the Oscar in the Documentary Feature Film category, Cover-Up depicts Seymour Hersh’s half-century of reporting and exposing what Hersh believes is a pattern of impunity within the US military and intelligence agencies, told through stacks of Hersh’s own meticulous notes, primary documents, and archival footage. The Pulitzer Prize–winning journalist has exposed some of the most unconscionable events that were covered up by the US government, including the My Lai massacre of women, children, and the elderly during the Vietnam War, and the torture and abuse of prisoners at Abu Ghraib. Directed by Academy Award winner Laura Poitras (Citizenfour) and Emmy Award winner Mark Obenhaus (Steep) it will be available for streaming on December 24.

After the artifact falls onto the black market, a shy waitress with big dreams teams up with a lovelorn military veteran to gain possession of it, putting them in the crosshairs of a ruthless criminal working on behalf of a Western antiquities dealer. Bloodshed ensues when others join the battle, including the leader of an indigenous group and a desperate woman fleeing her mysterious past. The film’s cast features Sydney Sweeney, Paul Walter Hauser, Halsey, Eric Dane, Zahn McClarnon and Simon Rex. The film will premiere on December 26.
