Any art form is not just the medium to vent out ones’ creative ideas,but it also helps in development of personality while enhancing the hidden skills and talents. Going by the same ideology,Swatantra Theatre is organising an acting workshop for children on April 19 and May 2. The theme is ‘Theatre is the centre of culture and moral evolution’ and the workshop aims to teach qualities and abilities of actors. During the workshop,children would take part in various theatrical games like-improvisation,imagination,expression,movements,voice modulation,stage sense,dance and many more. The idea behind the whole workshop is to help children grow more confident on stage,perform during auditions,read cue cards,use improvisation tips in auditions,stage shows,wardrobe,make-up and many other facets. The workshop will be conducted by Abhijeet Choudhury,Dhanashree Heblikar and Rakesh Shah at Shri mahavir Jain Vidyalaya,Agarkar Road.

No child’s play

Niche Stagekraft,a theatre production house,is now all set to reach out to children with a powerful tool like theatre to tap their hidden talents. The Children’s Theatre Summer Workshop aims to bring about development through self-expression. The objective is to help children grow in following ways: improves communication skills,self-confidence,and presentation skills. Helps in personality development,self-image and understanding. Develops discipline,commitment,time management,and concentration. Giving an opportunity to express oneself and helps develop thought process and the ability to think critically. Encourages cooperation and teamwork with others to achieve common goal. Helps develop moral and spiritual values. The 15-day workshop is scheduled to begin on April 15 and. The final performance will be held in Nehru Memorial Hall.

Youngsters cheered as they watched the promos of Neil Nitin Mukesh’s next film New York on a huge led screen with the actor himself. Facing the audience live and on the screen,Neil was in town on Saturday to inaugurate the first LED screen site at Mariplex Mall in Kalyani Nagar. Designed by city based Aruna Narayan,CEO AvanT E-Tech,Pune was the first city to have it that will move on to other metros soon. Speaking on the occasion Narayan said,“It will be a cost effective form of promotion,bound to attract attention and is also a popular concept all over the world. The LED display screen is also energy efficient and very dynamic.” Neil who is presently shooting for Madhur Bhandarkar’s Jail in Karjat said that this will help film promotions in a big way. “We need a lot of advertisement for promoting our films and this is a unique and a fresh medium in the country that I have been seeing in malls abroad.I am sure it will lead to a greater visibility of our works,” he added.
