While the city’s music scenario is going great it’s a treat for trance lovers this weekend as dj Deepesh,of Designer Hippies from Mumbai would be performing v/s dj Goblin of Psysex at One Lounge,Koregaon Park. The Children of Doc fame and originally from Israel DJ Goblin will be spinning some of the amazing tracks from the various genres of psychedelic and Goa trance who is also working on a new album,as-well as a new psytrance project that will be revealed very soon. Comparing his music with other DJs,DJ Goblin emphasizes that he mixes dark psychedelic trance that is darker,faster and more distorted with progressive trance,which is with a slower BPM range which he says has has a great audience in the city.DJ Deepesh feels that psychedelic trance broke out into the mainstream as the UK music press began to report on the trend of Goa. Since then the genre has grown immensely and now offers much variety in terms of mood,tempo,and style.”I believe that,trance culture was never out of fashion and it always allure music lovers to soak their nerves in to it,” he adds.

Dance and queen

The Genesis Award for the lady with outstanding achievement at the international level has been declared to veteran singer Lata Mangeshkar. The award will be given at the hands of Sharad Pawar,Union Agricultural Minister on the occasion of International Women’s Day- March 7,6.30 pm onwards at ILS Law College Ground. The programme titled- Woman Power will feature Draupadi ballet by renowned actress Hema Malini. “The motive behind this programme is to honour the universal feminine spirit. In order to make this idea fruitful,we have instituted the Genesis Award. This is the first time we are giving this award however we plan to make it an annual event,” said Minal Khot- Suresh Babu,president,The International Creative Club,(TICC),organizers of the event. The International Creative Club,Pune specializes in organizing social,cultural and adventure sports events on a large scale. “A significant part of the funds raised from staging the show Draupadi ballet will go to Genesis Home- an organisation that TICC intends to establish with a motive to help HIV+ children in order to take care of their basic needs such as fooding,clothing,shelter,medication and so on. The project would offer them a dependable and congenial space where the children can live and play with respect,” she added.
