Fine stroke
It was more like a walk down the memory lane, where one could get glimpses of Eastman Colour and larger-than-life era of Hindi film industry at the film poster exhibition at PMN art gallery in Ghole Road by National Film Archive of India (NFAI). The exhibition was dedicated to music with captions on each poster giving information about the music and its impact, music director, hit songs and the trend that ruled the screen in those time. The exhibition was inaugurated by the Oscar-winner sound technician,Resul Pookutty, who was later invited to be the brand ambassador of NFAI and held them in venture of preserving the films. Pookutty is here to participate in the ongoing Pune International Film Festival (PIFF) as well. The exhibition, was held for the first time as a part of PIFF. The director of the national film archive,Vijay Jadhav says,This exhibition is a tribute to those music directors, who have created history that we are and will be proud of. These posters have definitely gone beyond their traditional image and are now valued as a piece of art. Academic studies should be undertaken for studying such posters by film schools. In fact, people come from all over to the national film archive to study the colour schemes and outlays of such posters.
