Groove to the tunes of the Grammy winning band,Dirty Vegas,as the British House music trio- will be performing in the city this weekend. Dirty Vegas exploded onto the scene with their self-titled debut album in 2002,earning massive success and critical acclaim. The album won them a Best Dance Single Grammy for Days Go By. The band has also headlined their own worldwide tour,supporting like-minded artistes such as Moby,Underworld and Groove Armada,and stole the show with their full live band and hybrid live/DJ sets. They have also remixed tracks by Madonna,Justin Timberlake and the Dandy Warhols and scored the music for major TV shows like The Sopranos,and Smallville and films such as Die Another Day and Goal. The event will be a Sunday sunset session at Stone Water Grill,Koregaon Park.

Having won accolades for his work globally filmmaker Amit Dutta has added another feather to his cap as his films will now be screened at The 56th International Short Film Festival in Oberhausen,Germany. An alumnus of the Film and Television Institute Of India Duttas films will be a part of the Profiles at Oberhausen: Three filmmakers and one artists movement. The profiles are traditionally dedicated to individual filmmakers or important movements in the history of short films. The Oberhausen has upheld that the works of Dutta that oscillate between Indian mythology and a personal symbolism whose distinctive pictorial language is often compared with that of Sergei Parajanov. His film Keshkambli was screened in Oberhausen in 2003 and won the FIPRESCI Award at the festival in 2007 for Kramasha. The screening will include Chakravak – the bird,Ma Pa – mother father,Masaan and Kramasha to be continued,among others. The festival that is on till May 4 will have Duttas films screened today.
