Weekend wine
Wining is on cards as Pune Gourmet Club announces the Third Annual Pune Wine Tasting Festival to be held on coming weekend. Visitors will get a chance to taste many new wines this year, proclaims B Shankaranarayan of the Pune Gourmet Club also promising some choice culinary offerings and a truly unforgettable ambience. This wine festival will also offer an unusual canvas to well-known local artists. Several artistes have agreed to set up their displays at the festival and to express themselves in different media canvas,paper,bottles,and ceramic plates! It will be held on December 19 and 20 at Rohi Villa in Koregaon Park 11.30 am onwards. Indian Wine Companion 2009 the first comprehensive guide to the wines of India will be available for wine enthusiasts at the festival. This 100-page book covers a range of topics from a detailed description of wine grape varieties and the 10 commandments of wine tasting to a restaurateurs guide to wine-buying and listing of all wines produced by nearly 25 wineries in India. This could be a great opportunity for wine-lovers as well as others keen on being introduced to the fascinating world of wines.
