Beyond music
In a splendid amalgamation of instrumental music followed by a recital of ragas,Indian classical maestros,Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma and Pandit Chunnulal Mishra enthralled the audiences at Barkha Ritu. Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma began the concert with a solo composition in Raag Miya Malhar and went on to present a recital in Raag- Des accompanied by tabla maestro Yogesh Shamsi. Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma says,“The time for which the musician plays is not important in case of a performance. A classic and a successful performance is that in which a musician connects with the audiences’ hearts. Some time the process is three minute long and some times it cannot happen even in three minutes.” With a combination of Kirana and Patiyala Gharana in his recital,Pandit Chunnulal Mishra went on to display a classic union of semi-classical music forms, which included Thumri,Chaiti,Dadra and Bhajan. The musical concert was organised by Banyan Tree and took place at Yeshwantrao Chavan Natyagriha on Friday.
