SIMC Cyber Media Conclave ends on a ‘blog’ note

The Symbiosis Institute of Media and Communication (SIMC) Convention Centre on Saturday had organised a National Cyber Media Conclave,which brought together experts from the cyber world to discuss on the potency of cyber media in knowledge sharing,social change and networking. From the power of internet to blogging,the expert panel had discussed various issues concerning the cyber world. The expert panel included Kiruba Shankar,co-founder,The Knowledge Foundation,Jasmeen Bhateja,founder,The Blank Noise Project,Shivam Vij,Tehelka Journalist and renowned blogger,and Shiv Bhaskar,CEO,The Viewspaper. They opined that new media does not actually replace mainstream media but rather complements it. “There was a shift from vox-pops stories to blog-based stories to represent public opinion,which later get amplified by the mainstream media,” said Shivam Vij.
